### 12.3 Release and ecosystem readings (2026-09-26)

- **CI.** The last run of #702 (`117cb8dc`): 39 checks pass. The two that fail are the xcode-27
legs, which fail the same way on `main` (#669). The push run on `main` (`c109fdd6`, whose tree
equals `117cb8dc`) reads the same. Before the last run, CI found five test defects that no
Linux host shows:
- two unit tests compared a native Windows spelling as a string;
- e2e 781 and 782 pinned gcc on macOS;
- 781 asked for no plan where the fast path does not exist (ELF only, #400);
- 211 compared an MSYS and an 8.3 spelling of one Windows directory;
- the hermetic container had no python3 for 783 to 786.
- **Local.** The full e2e suite on the integrated binary: 429 passed, 0 failed, 56 skipped (the
capabilities this host lacks); 129 unit test binaries pass.
- **Release.** Run 36212122557 on `c109fdd6`: every job successful.
- Each of the four archives was uploaded to GitCode from a CN host the moment it and its
sidecar appeared on the GitHub release. Each GitCode copy equals the GitHub bytes, and the
GitHub `xlings-res/mcpp` copies answer 200 with the same sizes.
- xim-pkgindex#880 (+22/-3, four hashes equal to the sidecars) was merged as `96d71ade`, and
its index artifact was published (run 36213874711).
- **Fresh installs.** `ci-fresh-install` on `c109fdd6` succeeds on:
- Linux;
- six distributions (Arch, Debian 12, Debian testing, Fedora, Tumbleweed, Ubuntu 20.04);
- Windows 2022, Windows 2025, and Windows without Visual Studio;
- macOS 14, directly and through Homebrew.

Its two xcode-27 legs fail as they did for 2026.9.26.1.
- **Sandbox, the published artefacts only.** `xlings subos use v702 --sandbox` with the CN mirror
for both xlings and mcpp; mcpp 2026.9.26.2 installed by `xlings install` from the published index
and addressed by store path; the release's own e2e scripts passed in as a tarball:

The same script in a fresh subos against 2026.9.26.1 reads 4 ok and 16 failed. The four that
pass are the version, the mirror, a plain build and the index package; the sixteen that fail
are exactly the checks this release changes.
- **The index, with the release.**
- mcpplibs/mcpp-index#470 raised `validate.yml`'s `MCPP_VERSION` to 2026.9.26.2 and was merged
as `f84c57ba`. A pin change selects no member on its own pull request, so the full sweep was
dispatched on `main` (run 36214011426).
- Every workspace shard passes with 2026.9.26.2: Linux default (6), Linux llvm (9), Windows (5)
and macOS (2).
- The one failing job, `mirror-cn-reachable`, found three GitCode resource URLs unreachable from
the runner. All three answer 200 from a CN host (asio 1.38.1, compiler-rt-builtins 22.1.8.3,
glx-runtime 2026.06.03).
- **mcppls.** S2 0.3.0 landed in Sunrisepeak/mcpp-language-server#26 (mcppls 0.0.5). #25 was
folded into it, together with the consumer side: a partial answer is used, and each part the
producer could not describe is reported as `producer-partial`.
- **Issues.** #699, #701 and #703 were closed by #702 and carry the release readings; item C-1 of
#397 and item B1 of #677 carry the same.

### 12.4 Open

- **mcpp-plugins.** Its `deps-*` and `rules-qt` work was written against SPEC-007 and pins
"2026.9.27.1", the version #702 was opened with. It moves to 2026.9.26.2.
- **MSVC (§9).** C4's `/interface` and C5's `std.ixx` unit still wait for a measurement of
clang-cl-mode clangd; SPEC-005 R3.7 states the omission.
- **The plan-time listing.** The listing of runtime search directories that deploys every DLL
present at plan time remains for one compatibility train. W places what a program imports;
the listing still serves DLLs a program loads at run time.
